We look forward to serving you!
Larry Heesacker started back in 1985 with a chainsaw and a pick-up truck. Since then, Larry and his wife, Donna have built a solid reputation as Yamhill County's most trusted logger.
The Heesackers are committed to providing quality service to the Pacific Northwest. They believe that a reputation as an honest and reliable business is the recipe for success.
While others seek to profit by cutting corners, or recommending unnecessary services to customers, the Heesackers believe that a good reputation and consistant service will reap bigger profits in the long run. By being trustwrothy, the Heesackers believe that they will enjoy a long-term profitable business that serves the community, and will continue to do so for generations to come.
Larry and Donna grew up in Yamhill county, raising their four kids here. Larry attended OSU taking classes in woodland management, receiving his Master Woodland Management certification in 2002.
Larry has instilled the hard-working ethic in his family. His son Jeremy keeps the Heesacker Logging Tradition going, having mastered several of Larry's biggest rigs, including a 722 Cat Timberking with a Cat HotSaw Head.
Son, Ben took on a management role in the company this year, moving up from equipment operator.
Larry believes in the right tool for the job, which is why he continually upgrades his equipment. Caterpillar, Timberking, John Deere, Madill - Larry has the equipment, including fully mechanized loggers, to finish any size task.
While A-1 Logging processes up to 20 million board-feet of timber each season, they aren't too big to take on your small jobs. Give Larry a call about your job - from thinning a few acre homestead to clear-cutting hundreds of acres - he has the gear and the crew to get it done right.
From the beginning to end, you choose the level of service. Our Master Woodland Manager is trained to give you the best value for your timber lands.
Our close relationships with mills all over the region ensure top dollar for your logs. We can also earn even more moeny for your exceptionally straight logs through our numerous export contacts. Have lower-quality timber? Not a problem! We work with pulp mills too.
Want to convert your timber acreage to a vineyard? We can help! Already have a vineyard, but you're having shade problems? We can take care of that too!
We can also cut a driveway, clear a home site, install culverts and plan for weather drainage. Need a view of a corridor for your satellite pick-up? Call us with large and small needs.
Requirements after logging need to be addressed. Trees replanted and maintained is our specialty. For the years to come your investment will be protected and managed. We can help you with your woodlands future. Trail and fence line maintenance is made easy with our brush cutter.
Our workers are highly trained and experienced at making roads. Raods for vineyards, home site preparations, or forest road creation are just a few of our services available.
"A-1 was the most professional and courteous logging contractors that we have ever worked with. We have been involved in timber and logging for several years and have had experiences that have not been as positive. With A-1, not only can we say that we enjoyed the experience of working with them, they were fair, honest, always kept our best financial interest in mind and left the land in extraordinary condition."
~ Karen Mask, Carol Curl & Cathy Howard
"I had a small lot - only 5 acres - that I needed thinning and a space for a house. Larry's guys came in and took care of everything. Most of the mills were closed due to the economy, but Larry found open mills and got my logs sold!"
